Holly & Ivy Christmas #136

It’s challenge time over at the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge! As always, the theme is anything Christmas goes!! I’m also counting this as one of my weekly cards for my own Christmas Card Challenge.

These bright red trees were so JARRING to me in the beginning. I couldn’t figure out how to make this work but then found this HUGE Merry Christmas sentiment and it’s so big and bold on its own that I think it matched perfectly!!

Hope you come join us and thanks for stopping by!

March No Stamp Challenge

It’s the 15th of the month which means it’s time for a new No Stamp Challenge over at The Outlawz! The theme this month is What’s Your Lucky Charm?

And remember that no stamped images are allowed!! Stamped greetings/sentiments are okay but make sure you dig out those dies, stickers, and die-cut pieces!!

Rainbows are for sure good luck for me and I’m fortunate that living in Hawaii and on the Windward side where it rains more often means that I see them regularly. So I knew I wanted to do something rainbow themed.

I used paper and stickers from Echo Park’s Play All Day Girl line. And I was digging through my stash to find some rainbow-themed sentiments and came across this Cathy Z set all about the luck and thought this was a perfect fit for this theme!

Hope you come join us! Can’t wait to see what your lucky charm is. Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #3

It’s time for a new Beautiful Blossoms challenge! This is challenge #3 and as always, there’s really only two rules – you MUST have flowers and use the provided mood board for inspiration for your project. Here’s our mood board this month:

And as always, feel free to use anything in the picture that inspires you!

I was definitely inspired by the cherry blossoms kinda hanging overhead so tried to mimic that with my stamp positioning on the panel. And I also tried to throw in some of that earthy green with a super thin mat behind the blossoms panel. I actually stamped “hello” behind that sentiment panel but just couldn’t find an ink color and pinky mat color that matched really well so ended up covering it up with a diecut panel popped up on some foam dots instead. And my stamp positioning was super bad lol so I added that wood heart to cover the gap on the right side of the sentiment. It works! haha!!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!

Holly & Ivy Christmas #135

It’s challenge time over at the Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge! As always, the theme is anything Christmas goes!! I’m also counting this as one of my weekly cards for my own Christmas Card Challenge.

I love me a good stripey paper. haha. But seriously though! I love how this one came out. I needed to trim down the gold pine sprigs in the top left corner because to spread them out a bit more to fill that space but you totally wouldn’t know because it’s all hidden behind that sentiment card! Super happy that my idea to cut it apart really did make it work and I didn’t butcher it lol.

Hope you come join us and thanks for stopping by!

March Color Challenge

It’s the first Tuesday of the month which means it’s time for a new Tuesday Color Challenge over at The Outlawz! This is our color inspiration for March and the twist: add something beginning with the letter B.

I tried to pull all three colors into my card which was pretty difficult! Soft pinks and purples and pastels are not colors I tend to reach for regularly so this mood board really made me think hard about how I wanted to pull them all together!

And I was so irritated because once I finally figured out a layout I liked I couldn’t find the stamp I wanted to use. Still can’t find it! But I kept digging through my stash and found this cute giraffe and he worked with the color palette too so I figured why not! haha. My letter B twist: Baby and Balloon. And I also as inspired by the glitter in the balloons so I added that to the floating hearts.

And can we talk about how amazing this sentiment is? haha. I absolutely love it and want to make more baby cards just so I can use it again!!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!

March Monday Greetings Challenge

It’s the first Monday of the month which means it’s time for a new Monday Greetings Challenge over at The Outlawz! The greeting theme this month is Hello March and the twist: add food.

We’re sponsored this month by the amazing Mirtillamente and I got to use the digis Phoebe Rain and Ready For Spring.

I used the digi Ready For Spring to create a digital background and then foiled it with some gold foil. Then I used some ink cubes to blend out a small bloop of color behind Phoebe Rain. I popped her up on some 3D foam and then added some rhinestones and some glitter stickles to the sentiment to try and bring it all together. No twist for me this month – I couldn’t figure out how to add it in with these two digis because as soon as I saw the digis we were working with this layout popped into mind!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!

Inspiration Station #47

Hi all! It’s new challenge time over at Inspiration Station! Here’s the Inspiration Picture for Challenge #47:

And as always, feel free to use anything in the picture that inspires you!

Sunshine and sheep, need I say more?!? Initially I wanted to do a big green background since there’s so much green in the picture but then I found this image and knew I needed to do something bright and fun with those hearts and decided rainbow was the way to go! And I’m so happy with how bright and happy they look!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!

February Star Stampz Challenge

It’s mid-month inspiration time for the current Star Stampz Challenge! The theme this month is Anniversary, Wedding, or Love.

I’m using the digi K-I-S-S-I-N-G from the Star Stampz Etsy Store. How adorable is this couple???

I colored this digi up with my Copics and definitely wanted the image itself to be the focus of this entire card so tried to keep it sweet and simple with a small flag banner with the “Love you” sentiment and a simple knot in some white twine. This is also one of my absolute favorite dies but it cuts horridly on the scalloped part so I need to trim it out by hand every time. But I think this card was worth it!

Hope you come join us! Make sure to swing by the Star Stampz FB Fan Group and see more projects using these gorgeous Star Stampz digis!

Thanks for stopping by!

Feb Christmas Card Challenge

Hi hi! I’m really trying to challenge myself this year with getting things made and not just purging and organizing my stash but USING UP (almost) ALL THE PRETTY THINGS! And even though I say almost, there’s no way I’ll be able to get through a ton of it this year but I still plan to try and make a noticeable dent in my stash. It’s definitely a work in progress and I’ve got a looooong way to go but I’m working on it and feeling good so far!

Every month I’m trying to make 4-5 Christmas cards. Basically one each week, and the intention is really to post one of them each week. But since I’m just getting back into the swing of things and the month is almost over… *GASP* I know right!! I’ve decided to post my February Christmas cards all at once! These are all made using leftovers from a card kit I’ve had sitting in my “kits to do” pile for a couple years. Yeah, I know… it’s super bad but I’m getting to it this year, promise!

(^this card is being entered into the Holly & Ivy Christmas Card Challenge/DT Call)

And I have to say that this art style is not really something I would choose to use on my own but I actually love how these cards came out. The kit came with cardstock, patterned paper, a die cut ephemera pack, epoxy dots, and a set of gold Thickers so I really had everything I needed to put these together. And I definitely need to make more with these papers because I have a ton left! I think there’s even two whole 12×12 sheets I haven’t cut into yet so I will definitely be making a bunch more once I pull some more embellies!

Thanks for stopping by! Here’s to spacing out my Christmas cards from now on haha. See ya!

Feb ’23 2×5 Progress #3 & Wrap-up

Back again to share the final progress post for this month’s 2×5 challenge using the Whiskers collection by Photo Play Paper.

These are the two tags I made using scraps. I didn’t punch holes or string and ribbon/twine because I’m not exactly sure how I’ll be using them yet. But I figure that’s an easy thing to do if I decide to do it!

The last two projects for this kit are some pocket cards. I typically do landscape/horizontal 4×6 cards and photos and portrait/vertical 3×4 cards and photos so went with what I knew I could work with. The only thing for this one is I cut into a full 12×12 cardstock sheet in order to get the backing for the 4×6 card as the Cranberry scraps I had left were too small and I really wanted to use the red color! I also cut off the left fishtail from the #cats rock banner sticker to make it fit better.

This wraps up my Whiskers collection kit! I have SO MUCH paper left over it completely surprised me. Seriously! I used only 6 of 12 sheets, and didn’t even touch 2 of the 6 designs. And I definitely gravitated towards the sticker sheet over the die-cuts so I know I have lots left to work with, but I think I’m Whiskers-ed out for now! I’ll definitely use them up as I have TONS of cat pictures left and know I have way more coming (the kittens don’t make 1-year old until April!) but that’s it for now!

Final count:

  • 12×12 Sticker Sheet
  • Cats Rule 12×12 Patterned Paper – 1 sheet
  • Whiskers 12×12 Patterned Paper – 1 sheet
  • Pounce 12×12 Patterned Paper – 2 sheets
  • Ball of Yarn 12×12 Patterned Paper – 2 sheets
  • Cranberry 12×12 Cardstock – 3 sheets
  • Butterscotch 12×12 Cardstock – 1 sheet
  • Robin’s Egg 12×12 Cardstock – 1 sheets
  • Slate Blue 12×12 Cardstock – 3 sheets
  • Chocolate Chip 12×12 Cardstock – 1 sheet
  • Almond 12×12 Cardstock – 2 sheets

Extras:

  • Wood Veneer (hearts & stars)
  • Misc. Alphabet Stickers
  • Twine/Baker’s Twine (4 colors)
  • Adhesive rhinestones
  • Black Epoxy Dots
  • 3D foam/dots

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll definitely be doing this again and again!!
