Kicking off Christmas Card Sunday

I decided that from now on, to keep me on my goals, I would try and have some regular postings.  One of my main goals this year was to get ahead on my Christmas cards.  And like just about everything else, I am SUUUUUUUPER far behind!!  But I’m trying to take the glass-half-full approach to things and am saying that progress is progress!  The amount of crafting and blogging that I’ve done this year is more than I have done in the past… maybe 5 years.  And 2010-2012 was a whole bunch of NOTHING for me.  So while I didn’t meet all goals, I have definitely done well =0)

I am kicking off one of my regular postings – and I’m calling it Christmas Card Sunday.  Not super original, as I’m sure lots of people do the same thing or have their own weekly Christmas card post but here goes mine!

Every Sunday I’m hoping to post a new/different Christmas card. The rule: No buying stuff to make these cards!  I have to use what’s already in my stash or leftovers from other projects – I can buy Christmas stuff for a scrapbook layout or mini album and whatnot but I can’t buy something specifically to make a card for Christmas Card Sunday!

That’s it for this week.  I think I really like this layout and will definitely be using it again!  But I don’t think I’m super happy with that ribbon/knot.  I think the ends are a bit too long and need a little trim.  hmm….

Well, that’s week 1 of Christmas Card Sunday down in the books!!

  • Oh Kelli, I love your card and your Christmas Sunday challenge. I’m saying challenge because sometimes it can be a challenge just to do the things we set out to do. I should challenge myself to make a Christmas card every week. A great way to use up the scraps, etc.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

  • That’s gorgeous Kelli. I’m doing the SU Christmas card challenge this year to keep up with my holiday cards.

  • LOVE this card!! Great use of scraps and I like the idea of your not buying anything (except I never stick to those LOL!) One of my goals is to make a Christmas card each week. With so many Christmas challenges out there, it shouldn’t be too hard to stick with!
