Thanksgiving Friends Card & Tag Set w/Jaded Blossom

It’s release week over at Jaded Blossom!! Today we have 2 adorable fall stamp sets, Scarecrow Kisses and Fall Tags.

I decided to make a little Thanksgiving card and Scarecrow tag for a nice gift that I have yet to decide what it is. haha!

I wanted to do something clean and simple with the card… the sentiment in theFall Tags stamp set is so beautiful and simple and I wanted to match that. So I stamped out the sentiment in the middle of the card and then masked it, stamping over the mask with the pumpkin bottle. Then I colored it up with my Copics. The last thing I did was use the Border Dies and a score board to add some detail to the top and bottom edges of the card.

And now the tag. This scarecrow is ADORABLE. We don’t have the whole changing of seasons here in Hawaii, so Fall and Autumn and scarecrows are kinda foreign to me lol!! At first I did’t know how much I liked the scarecrows in the Scarecrow Kisses stamp set but then I stamped in the face and OMG they’re so cute!! haha!! I used the Treat Tag Die to make the tag with some fall/autumn paper that’s been sitting on my shelf FOREVER and then added this dude colored up with my Copics. He’s popped up on 3D dots to give the tag a little dimension. But oh so cute!!

Thanks for stopping by, and see you again soon! Lots more Jaded Blossom goodies coming up!! And if you can’t wait, you can get it all now too!

Cool Beans w/Eyelet Outlet

Hi Friends! I’m on the Eyelet Outlet blog again today to share a super fun card that really challenged me!

I got to play with these adorable Coffee Brads again to make my card. The Coffee Brads set comes with these coffee beans, and to be honest, I was STUMPED on what I was going to do with them until I saw this sentiment from a coffee stamp set! How perfect is that?!?

I stamped out my diagonal line of beans and then glued down my sentiment circle so that I knew where I wanted to place these coffee bean brads. I love that they give my otherwise flat card some dimension!! They totally make the card!!

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon!!

You’re Jawsome!!

Happy New Year friends! I’m so late with saying hello this new year! But I’m busy busy working on some new posts and slowly making my way back to crafting regularly… last semester kicked my booty and I STRUGGLED with keeping up with my blog and finding time to craft. But here’s to a new year and making time again!!

I used this peeking shark from a set from Pretty Cute Stamps. And I think he is just adorable!! He sits outside of the shaker window, because I couldn’t figure out another way to stick him behind the acetate but still have his fin peeking out like that! Still can’t think of a way that would have worked.

I colored him up with my Copics, and created my background with my Distress Inks. And to see the sequins in the shaker… I really think it does a good job of looking like bubbles!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sparkle w/ATCAS

It’s challenge time over at the Addicted to CAS blog! The code word this week is SPARKLE.

I thought about doing some wintery snow card or glittery Christmas lights card because that would have totally been festive and everything since this is December but then thought, “nah.” haha! I also happened to grab this set by Paper Smooches – Spectrum while looking for something else and this layout just popped in my head. Love it when it works like this sometimes!  Because I know there are days where I stare and stare at a card or an image or a prompt and draw blanks. So it’s nice to have a card make itself in your brain every once in a while!

I colored him up with my Copics… yes, I said HIM. Amazing and sparkly unicorns are typically gendered male in this house! So anywhoo, I colored him up with my Copics, and added some stickles to his horn and on the stamped clouds in the square. I stamped the sentiment on that pink strip, well, because I totally smudged it when I tried to stamp the sentiment straight onto the card. haha!!! It was a quick fix, and I think it looks nice! The last thing I added were these iridescent purple sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Just love them, and I think I need to grab more pretty soon!!

And just because it’s so much fun, another close-up shot so you can see all the sparkle in the clouds and on his horn.

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!!

Watercolor Florals w/ATCAS

It’s challenge time over at the Addicted to CAS blog! The code word this week is:

I used a new-to-me floral stamp from Hero Arts and did some rough watercoloring… it wasn’t until I got into coloring my 2nd flower that I realized I used a scrap piece of cardstock that bled everywhere, so my solution was to just color outside the lines a bit more to cover it up!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!!

Friends w/ATCAS

It’s challenge time over at the Addicted to CAS blog! The code word this week is FRIENDS.

I saw this technique on a YouTube video last month… I want to say it was Jennifer McGuire but I honestly have no clue. You know how YouTube will just jump from video to video?? Yeah, I totally spent a night doing that instead of the homework I was supposed to finish and lost track of what I saw where!! But basically, you stamp your image/sentiment, and then add individual colors of embossing powder from the bottom up. So I added the red, tapped off the excess, and then went to orange, to dark yellow, to light yellow. And then used the good ol’ heat tool to melt it all together!

The sentiments are both from the Paper Smooches – Bosom Buddy stamp set. I feel like I’ve used this sentiment before, but I could totally be wrong. The Paper Smooches fonts tend to look the same (love them though!) and it might have been the same thing from a different set. Who knows!  Haha and that totally doesn’t mean that I have too many stamps to keep track of!!!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!!

A+ in my book! w/CCS

Hi Friends!! I’m blogging over at the CutCardstock blog today 🙂 How has the weather been in your neck of the woods or your corner of the city?? It’s been hot and humid here in Hawaii, but I think that means it’s gonna rain, which hope fully will make the end of the summer much more tolerable!! My kiddos have actually gone back to school this week, so I wanted to make a card for Little A’s librarian because I just adore her!!

I made a CAS (clean and simple) card today using one of my favorite dies and some fun colored enamel dots on top of this card made from this amazingly bright and nice Classic Crest Cardstock in Solar White (80#).

First I cut my Classic Crest Cardstock in Solar White (80#) in half because otherwise it wouldn’t fit in my Big Shot lol!

I then used one of my favorite big dies by Paper Smooches to cut out this frame with these wonky stitched borders. It comes out to the perfect size to mat on a full card!

I centered the stamp on my Misti and then stamped away! I had to do it more than a few times to make sure I got the black in her eyes completely colored in.

And then I colored!! There’s no sound in this short video, just to let you know so you don’t turn up your speakers looking for it!

After I got her colored up nice and pretty, I stamped on the sentiment (from another Stamp Anniething set). But look how beautifully she colored up. There was no bleeding, and she colored so smoothly, I just love it!!

I used some pop-up dots to stick her onto the card base, which was just the remaining half of that Classic Crest Cardstock in Solar White (80#) piece that I cut in the beginning.

The last thing I did was add some fun enamel dots to the card. I used two different sets, one was a fall themed one and the other a Christmas one. But together they worked out perfectly!!

Here’s a closeup of her colored… so smooth. It was so nice to color on this Classic Crest Cardstock without having to worry too much about bleeding!!

I hope Little A’s librarian likes the card… I know I’m so happy with how cute she came out!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make sure to stay up to date with the latest news and sales on the CutCardstock Facebook Page!!

One Layer w/ATCAS

It’s challenge time over at the Addicted to CAS blog! The code word this week is ONE LAYER.

This was FUN to make. I absolutely love that flower – it’s from a previous Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin kit and even though I haven’t put together the projects from that kit yet, I’ve used the stamp set a handful of times haha!! One day I’ll get to all my Paper Pumpkin kits!! And look at that sentiment. I absolutely love that font. so purrrrrrty.

Anywhoo, this was super easy to put together as well. I blocked off the white space for the sentiment with some wash – make sure to stick it to yourself a few times to take away more of the stick… some washi can be pretty sticky and not want to come off paper very nicely, and I didn’t want to take a chance at ruining the card at the end, when all I had left to do was add the sentiment!

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!!

Wheels w/ATCAS

It’s challenge time over at the Addicted to CAS blog! I’m hosting this week and the code word I picked is WHEELS.

Once again, I pulled out a stamp set I haven’t ever inked up, and I don’t know why it took me so long to do so! This is Lawn Fawn – Happy Trails. And of course, I chose this theme for Baby Z because of his obsession with anything with wheels! He even told me what colors those cars needed to be colored and I think he picked really well haha =o)

Hope you come join us! Thanks for stopping by!!

Congrats w/CCS

I’m blogging over at the CutCardstock blog today! First off, let me apologize so greatly for the pictures! I’m experimenting with my camera rig and this is definitely NOT a winner. Oh well, live and learn!! I promise I’ll figure it out for next time!

This was a really simple card to make but it looks so pretty because of the shimmery paper! Today’s card is made using some gold Stardream Metallic 65# cardstock and a couple pieces of Basis white 80# cardstock. So easy to put together!! I started by cutting my sheet of gold Stardream Metallic 65# cardstock in half to make a top-folding card.

I knew I wanted to put a piece of white cardstock inside the card to make it easier to write on – not every pen takes nicely to shimmery paper so I wanted to make it easier for whoever got this card to write inside!!

Then I took some matching yellow ink and a pretty circle stamp set and just stamped over the bottom of the card, making sure to go off the edges a little bit.

Then I took my sentiment and stamped it in a nice, bold black just above the circles.

The last thing I added was some matching black and white baker’s twine to the top of the card…

… and then finished it off with a nice bow before sticking the white cardstock piece to the card front.

And this is another view of the card, trying to show off the shimmer. So pretty, and such a simple thing to put together!!
