I Woof You

Hi Friends! I’m on the Eyelet Outlet blog today sharing a super fun card that I ended up absolutely adoring.

I started with these Dog Brads. I knew I wanted to make it the focus of my card, but it’s so much smaller than I’m used to using as a focal image, so I had to figure out a way to make it seem bigger.

I dug out some word bubble stamps, and found this simple “woof” sentiment stamp that I thought would be the only thing a dog really needs to say to his human!! And I’d like to think that my pups tell me things with love, so stamped that sentiment as far to the right as I could so I had space to add in a pink heart brad.

I finished off the card with some dark grey cardstock and some grey and white baker’s twine. So cute. I think I need to order some more Dog Brads and maybe even some Cat Brads to make more of these cards… but I think the cat’s word bubble might say something a little more sassy!! haha!!

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon!!

It’s time for a new challenge over at Sketch Saturday!  This week we’re working with sketch #415 and are sponsored by A Day for Daisies.

Here’s the Sketch…

…and here’s my take on it!  I got to play with Picking A Puppy by ADFD.

For this one, I turned the sketch on its side, and I couldn’t find my oval dies… plus my mom-in-law is borrowing my Big Shot so it would have been hard to get the dies to cut anyway lol!!  So my contribution to the roundness of the image was to round the corners!!

This is SUCH A CUTE IMAGE.  I want puppies!!!!!  And look how round and huggable these pups are… reminds me of Roly from 101 Dalmatians.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you come play along with us this week!!

I chose to play with sketch #380 this week, here’s the Sketch…

I flipped the sketch around on accident actually… I traced a line on the backside of the stripe paper to cut the angle… completely forgetting that when I flipped the paper back over it would reverse it.  Whoops!! haha!! But it still came out super cute, I love this little pup!!

Hope you come play along with us this week!!

So cute.  I wish my dogs would walk so nicely.  haha.  But they’re not little things to walk with… they’re humongous 75lb puppies.  lol!  I was looking for a ‘best friend’ type sentiment but I couldn’t find one and got tired of rummaging through my stash… time to spend some… well, time, going through my rubber/cling and clear stamps and catalog what I have so that I can actually find stuff when I’m looking for it from now on!! haha!!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you come join in the challenge!!

Animals w/KBD

KittyBeeDesigns-Banner

It’s Aloha Friday which means it’s challenge time over at Kitty Bee Designs’ Aloha Friday Challenges!  The theme for this challenge is “Animals” and we’re sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps!!  This is Rottweiler Trio Blocks and I just absolutely adore this trio!!  Rottweilers are on my doggy dream list… I’d love to own some but I don’t have the time to commit to training them right now.  Although, if we found a pair (because we like our puppies to have friends at home!) for a decent price I’m sure we would free up some time!!

I ended up coloring in their blocks because I colored by lamplight at 1am and it was dark and I went outside of the lines a little bit.  haha!!  But you can’t really tell so it’s all good!!!  And I paired it with this embossed panel because those circles are super cute and fun and the whole bold-school color scheme works!!

Hope you come swing by the challenge!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Today’s my reveal day as part of the Double Page Layout team over at Stick it Down!

The sketch we got to play with this month is

double april

And here’s my take on it – sorry for the weird angle.  I had bad lighting in my room today – one of my fixtures decided to die on me overnight so I am working in a half-lit room and shadows are all over the place!

This is my SIL’s puppy Buddy… well, he WAS a puppy when we took the pictures lol.

Beach Day!

Today’s layout (yay for another layout!) comes to us from a PageMaps sketch from August 2012.  I always have issues with white space but this time I think I did okay.

I used paper + stickers from Echo Park’s Splash collection.  I got this in an older kit (2011-ish maybe?) and wish I had known about this company then so I could pick up more of their super cute stuff. This is the dogs’ first beach day – we had them for about 2 months before we could do this.  Peace, being a stray, had to finish up getting her shots so she could be social.  She was taken in off the streets at around 4 months of age so imagine myself or my husband carrying this 30-something-pound puppy around the vet’s office because she wasn’t supposed to touch the floor.  haha.

Picture isn’t awesome… I’ve definitely got shooting cards down in the light box but layouts?  That’s a totally different story and one I’m definitely working on.  Thanks for stopping by today!!  I’m definitely sick so will be trying to lay low for a while but we’ll see how long that lasts!  The tylenol tends to kick in and then I do stuff until I feel sick again and by the end of the day I’m just DONE.  Sometimes it’s not good being such a busybody!!  Wish me well so I get better soon!!!

Scrap It Thursday

This week’s edition of Scrap It Thursday features my aunty’s dog.  I’m BIG into rescues and we convinced my aunty to adopt a dog from the Hawaiian Humane Society this past October.  In fact, now that my own puppies have been with us for a year and are at the end of their puppy age (16 mos!), I’m hoping we’ll be able to foster some dogs this year.  Fostering is definitely on my goal list for 2014.

Journaling: “Aunty Julie had been talking about adopting a dog for a while – I think since we got the puppies in January.  She was finally ready, and the Humane Society was fostering for space so we told her to go down and ‘try one out.’  Friday was a bust, but Saturday she found this pretty girl and called us right away!  We went over after soccer to meet her and told Aunty she should hurry and formally adopt her.  So the next morning, she did!  Welcome to the family, Lani girl!!

Have you been thinking about goals and resolutions for 2014?  Do you stick to them? I think “stick to your goals” should be at the top of my 2014 list!!  haha!
