CFC 212 w/CAS-ual Fridays

It’s time for a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!!

This challenge I’m using the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps set Joy to make my card. And I went with a shaker card for this one… but I think I used too-dark sequins to fill my card!!

I stamped and embossed on a piece of clear acetate, and then used some cute kraft-colored washi with snowflakes to make my shaker window and hide the foam tape! The last thing I did was add some matching twine to the top of the card. But all in all, I think I still love this one!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you come join in the challenge!

Huge Hairy Hugs w/Kindred Stamps

Hey friends! So proud to announce that I’ve joined the Kindred Stamps team for this quarter!!

And it’s my turn today to share a project today over at the Kindred Stamps blog!! There’s a fan club challenge going on in the Kindred Stamps FB Group this month, and I used the Galactic Adventures: The Third stamp set to create my card today. I knew I wanted to use this furry guy first… truth time – I never *really* watched the movies but Big A loves them, so like all the other things my kids fall in love with, I gravitated towards stocking up on stamps and papers and whatever else I could get my hands on!! This one is currently out of stock in the Kindred Stamps Store but there’s 2 other sets in this series so you can still start your collection lol!!

So anyway, back to the challenge in the Kindred Stamps FB Group this month… lol. It’s a Kindred Holidays Challenge!! Take a non-holiday stamp set and create a holiday card with it! Any holiday goes!!

I knew I wanted to do a snow-something card and dug through my stamps to put this one together!! The background is multi-stamped with a small Hero Arts set I got from someone’s destash… you know the like 1″x1″ clear stamp that comes with two rows of adhesive gems that Hero Arts sells?? Yup, that one! I love the snowflakes!! And then I stamped out the big Avery Elle snowflake and embossed it with some silver embossing powder. Then I added this cute hairy dude… colored up with my Copics.

The last thing I did was add some baker’s twine to the bottom and stamp out this “huge hugs” sentiment from a love and wedding themed Paper Smooches set. I know the sentiment is not holiday specific, but I think it still works as a holiday card lol!!

And make sure you come join us over at the Kindred Stamps FB Group to see the amazing makes everyone else is sharing!! Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon!

Subtle Shiny Snowflakes w/CCS

Hi Friends!! I’m blogging over at the CutCardstock blog today 🙂 with some shiny, sparkly snowflake cards!

I started with some BEAUTIFUL Stardream Metallic Cardstocks. I absolutely LOVE the shine to this cardstock, but wasn’t 100% sure my inks would dry nicely because of the sheen to it. So I decided to try and make some almost-white-on-white cards with a winter twist!

I started by stamping all over this sheet of Crystal Stardream Metallic Cardstock and then adding some crystal sparkle embossing powder to it. I know it totally looks white in this picture, but it melts clear with some glitter in it!

I cut them down to mat nicely on an A4 cardfront… here’s some pictures so you can see the sparkle. They didn’t stand out quite as much as I had hoped, bu tin some ways, I liked how subtle the snowflakes were!

I then stuck them down to my A4 cards, which I made from some Silver Stardream Metallic Cardstock. I initially wanted to do black or white, but decided to go with Silver because the shimmer matched, and the color was very nicely muted in the background! To match that, I stamped the “winter wishes” sentiment on some scrap Crystal Stardream Metallic Cardstock and then embossed it in silver embossing powder to match my card bases!

The last thing I did was to stick the sentiment banners on with some pop-dots and wah-lah! Quick and easy and pretty, if I do say so myself haha!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make sure to stay up to date with the latest news and sales on the CutCardstock Facebook Page!!

I went searching for new copic hair color combos and found this one for blonde… Y35, E53, E51, E50.  I think it was from The Greeting Farm Blog the other day.  So pretty!!!  I paired her with some E40’s, for her clothes and boots, and R80’s for her accessories. Came out so pretty!!

Hope you come swing by the challenge!!  See you soon!!

Anything But A Card Challenge w/SS

ss-2016-logo

It’s time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stamps Blog!  It’s a month-long Anything But A Card challenge!!

This month, I’m using #430 Starflake Medallion which can be found in the Sweet Stamps Shop.  It’s such a huge and beautiful stamp I was stumped as how to use it and color it… I’ve never colored something like this before!

I made a layered tag with this and wanted to keep it simple with the embellishments in order to keep the focus on the medallion.  And I’m so happy with the end result!!

Hope you come join in the challenge!!

Make a Scene! w/FAE

header

It’s time for another Faery Ink FB Challenge!!  If you haven’t noticed, the challenges have been moved to start at the beginning of the month instead of the mid/end of the month.  This month’s challenge is “Scenery” – use a stamp that includes scenery. The stamp should have a background and/or a grounding of some sort.  This is Arielle and Ian Snowball Fight.  I know most of my mainland friends are sick and tired of the snow but I just couldn’t help it… I love this pair!!!

And I tried really hard to make a CAS card with it too!  But the hard thing about CAS cards is that without the papers and embellishments, you have to focus on the coloring.  YIKES!  But I didn’t do too bad with this one I hope!!  So much white space, it was so hard for me!!  haha.  And I used some “Frosted Lace” stickles to do the snowballs/snow at their feet but the picture doesn’t quite pick it up.  You can see a little bit of it though which is nice!

Take care friends!  Come join us on FB and hope to see you there!!

Christmas Card Sunday 12-14-14

First off, I do apologize for the lighting and photos… things are still alllllll over the place due to construction and there’s nowhere to set up my beautiful new light box.  So I’ve resorted to what I used before – a tri-fold project board and daylight lamp!  Not as beautiful as with the light box, but it works in a pinch and hopefully I’ll be able to put the rest of the house back together this week and set up my light box again!

Anywhoo, it’s Sunday and time for Christmas Card Sunday again!! These cards are made with embossing powders and acetate papers!  I made two different colors because I wanted to try and do something fun and bright and I just didn’t want to do plain ‘0l white snowflakes.  Super happy with how fun they are!

Christmas Card Sunday 11/23

Happy Sunday!!  This week’s Christmas Card Sunday features my absolute favorite wintery icon… a snowman!  With no snow here in Hawaii (at least where I live) it’s fun to play with snowflake and snowman images.  I’m sure those of you who are frozen in the snow don’t necessarily feel the same way as I do about these frosty friends!!

I used a sketch (surprise, surprise!) from The Deconstructed Sketch #2 for this card.  Here’s the sketch:

And my card, featuring another freebie from Whimsie Doodles.

I punched the snowflakes from scrap white cardstock and then stickled them for some bling!  Speaking of which… I’m running low on stickles!  Where do you get yours from or if you use a different brand, what do you use and how do you like it??  Thanks in advance!
