Thanksgiving Friends Card & Tag Set w/Jaded Blossom

It’s release week over at Jaded Blossom!! Today we have 2 adorable fall stamp sets, Scarecrow Kisses and Fall Tags.

I decided to make a little Thanksgiving card and Scarecrow tag for a nice gift that I have yet to decide what it is. haha!

I wanted to do something clean and simple with the card… the sentiment in theFall Tags stamp set is so beautiful and simple and I wanted to match that. So I stamped out the sentiment in the middle of the card and then masked it, stamping over the mask with the pumpkin bottle. Then I colored it up with my Copics. The last thing I did was use the Border Dies and a score board to add some detail to the top and bottom edges of the card.

And now the tag. This scarecrow is ADORABLE. We don’t have the whole changing of seasons here in Hawaii, so Fall and Autumn and scarecrows are kinda foreign to me lol!! At first I did’t know how much I liked the scarecrows in the Scarecrow Kisses stamp set but then I stamped in the face and OMG they’re so cute!! haha!! I used the Treat Tag Die to make the tag with some fall/autumn paper that’s been sitting on my shelf FOREVER and then added this dude colored up with my Copics. He’s popped up on 3D dots to give the tag a little dimension. But oh so cute!!

Thanks for stopping by, and see you again soon! Lots more Jaded Blossom goodies coming up!! And if you can’t wait, you can get it all now too!

Turkey Thank You!

Whimsie Doodles Banner

First off, Happy belated Thanksgiving to my US friends!  Hope you had a wonderful day… and enjoyed your Black Friday shopping.  I’m not one who enjoys waking up early OR crowds, so if you slept in, then I hope you enjoyed that too.  I sure did!!  haha.

I’m blogging today over at Whimsie Doodles!!  This cutie is “Turkey Split” and he can be found in the Thanksgiving section of the Whimsie Doodles Store.  Truth time: I had to google “cartoon turkey” in order to figure out how to color his tail, and what color his snood is.  YES, that red thing hanging off his beak is called a ‘snood.’  I thought it was a ‘wattle,’ but apparently that’s what hangs off a turkey’s neck.  I looked it up!!! Useless information that I’ve now shared with my blogging world!!! haha!!

Anywhoo, back to the card.  I printed him so big (don’t know why, just did!) that he took up a lot of the card!!!  So I decided to go minimalistic with the patterned paper.  And no embellishments this time around.  I kind of like the CAS look this card has!!  The last thing I did was to run a brown sharpie around the edges of the ‘thank you’ banner so that it would stand out, as it’s the same orange as the base and I didn’t want it to get completely lost!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Turkey Leftovers Day!! haha!!

Happy Turkey Day! w/PSC

This week over at Perfect Sentiments Challenge, the theme is “layered thanksgiving.” We are fortunate to be sponsored by

Meljen's Designs

I ended up double matting the background paper as well as the image… all in all there are 8 layers on here not including the sentiment!  I also got to play with this wonderful image “thomas turkey” – I don’t have a lot of Thanksgiving or fall themed stuff because the seasons don’t quite change here in Hawaii the same way they do on the mainland or most of the rest of the world!  So thanks Meljens!!!

20130918-144029He was so much fun to color!  Come join us over at PSC!
